Privacy
Due dates website and the "Due dates overlay" browser extension. Last updated October 1, 2026.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, names, emails, analytics, ads, or tracking cookies.
- The extension never reads, records, or sends the web pages you visit or their addresses. It only adds its own checklist box. The one exception: on Brightspace (yearup.brightspace.com), while you're logged in, it reads your own grades so it can show them next to your due dates.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
What stays on your device
- Your checklist, calendar list, settings (including a background image you pick in Customize), and sync code are saved in your browser (or the extension) on that device.
- Private calendar links you add (your own Brightspace or Google Calendar) stay on your devices.
- Grades the extension reads (course, assignment name, and score only; no feedback) are saved in the extension on that device.
What is sent to the Due dates site, and why
- Loading your due dates: the class calendar is read by the site. If you added your own Brightspace or Google Calendar, its private link is sent to the site only to read that calendar. The site returns titles, courses, dates, times, and assignment links, and does not save or log the link.
- Sync (optional): your checklist, calendars, settings, background image, and grades are locked (encrypted) on your device with your sync code before they're sent. The site stores only the locked copy and can't read it. Copies unused for 6 months are deleted automatically, or right away with "Stop and delete synced copy".
- Feedback (optional, website only): when you send a message with the pencil button, the site stores only the message, whether it's an issue or an idea, and the date. Nothing about you or your device. The newest 500 are kept, and only the site owner can read them.
- Reminders (optional, website only): the site stores an anonymous push address for your browser so it can send the daily reminder. Turning reminders off deletes it.
Services used
The site runs on Vercel. Locked sync copies, reminder addresses, and feedback messages are stored with Upstash. Assignment links open Brightspace, which asks you to log in. The extension reads grades directly from Brightspace; they are never sent anywhere except inside your locked sync copy.
